Dani joined the Steier group as a postdoctoral research associate on a joint international science partnership project between Oxford and our collaborators at our South Korean Partner Institution Kyungpook National University (KNU). Her research focuses on advancing solar-to-fuel technology by developing and optimizing hybrid inorganic polymer-based photocatalytic systems for CO2 photohydrogenation and hydrogen evolution.
During Dani's doctoral research in Professor Justin Sambur's laboratory at Colorado State University, she investigated sustainable energy solutions through fundamental studies of defect-mediated energy transfer in semiconductor nanocrystals, using single-molecule, super-resolution fluorescence microscopy alongside correlative electro/optical micro-spectroscopy techniques to investigate the ensemble-level photophysics of III-V nanomaterials for photoelectrochemical solar water splitting.
