Partha Sarathi Padhi
PDRA
Partha’s research at Oxford focuses on developing atomic layer deposition (ALD) processes for novel chalcogenide perovskite thin films for photocatalytic applications. This material design route has the potential to advance the sustainable production of solar fuels and value-added chemicals through solar-driven CO₂ hydrogenation. Before joining Oxford, in October 2026, as a postdoctoral researcher in the CoCooN group at Ghent University, Belgium, he has developed ALD processes for conformal coatings on complex 3D catalytic support surfaces, including powders, microfoams and nanomeshes, for CO₂ hydrogenation. Previously, as a postdoc at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, he developed carbide thin film coated portable 3D thermal neutron detectors using plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD) technique. He received his PhD in 2024 from the Nano-Electronic Materials & Devices Laboratory (NEMDL) at the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), India, where he investigated high-k metal-oxide nanolaminate based devices for energy-storage applications. His research interests span ALD process development for functional thin films, surface/interface engineering, nature inspired devices, and sustainable catalysis for value added fuels and chemicals.
